1/3 c
brown sugar
4 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
1/3 c
butter or margarine
2 1/2 c
honey bunches of oats cereal
eggs, beaten
1/2 c
egg, beaten with 1 tsp water
1/2 c
buttermilk* (may use substitute)


1 1/2 tsp
lemon juice or vinegar
1/2 c

How to Make Cinnamon & Raisin Scones


  • 1Preheat oven to 400 F & grease a baking sheet.
  • 2Combine, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  • 3Cut in butter until mixture forms coarse crumbs. Add cereal and mix well.
  • 4Combine two eggs, buttermilk and raisins in separate bowl. Add to cereal mixture and stir until dough clings together.
  • 5Knead on a floured surface 5 to 6 strokes.
  • 6Divide dough in half. Roll or pat each half into a 6 inch circle that is 3/4 inch thick. Cut each circle into wedges and place on baking sheet. Brush with egg and water mixture.
  • 7Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until golden brown.
