This is my mother-in-law's recipe. I usually add more cinnamon, but I love cinnamon.

Ingredients For cinnamon pudding cake

  • IN A SMALL SAUCEPAN, BRING THE FOLLOWING TO A BOIL AND THEN REMOVE FROM HEAT:
  • 2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • COMBINE THE FOLLOWING IN A MIXING BOWL:
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    cinnamon

How To Make cinnamon pudding cake

    Grease and flour a 13"x9" cake pan and spread batter in the pan. The batter will be thick. Pat down with hands if necessary.

    Pour brown sugar liquid over the cake batter.

    Bake at 350 degrees until a knife comes out clean. About 50 minutes.

    Serve warm or cooled with whipped topping or ice cream.
