christmas rum cake

I have been told for years that I couldn't share this recipe, because it is a "family" recipe! while searching the internet one evening, my husband calls me to the computer. "Isn't this your rum cake recipe?" I was surprised to see our family recipe there for all to see. I do have a different technique that use when completing my own cake, and now I'm sharing it with you.

Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1/2 cup pecans, in pieces
- 1 box duncan hines yellow cake mix
- 3 3/4 ounces vanilla instant pudding
- 1/2 cup rum
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 4 - eggs
- GLAZE
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup white rum
- 1/4 cup water
How To Make christmas rum cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees F

Step 2Grease and flour Bundt pan.

Step 3Crumble nuts in bottom.

Step 4Put cake mix and pudding mix in a large bowl.

Step 5In a smaller bowl put all other ingredients and beat thoroughly.

Step 6Add this mixture to dry mixture and beat 3 minutes.

Step 7Bake for 45 - 50 minutes.

Step 85 minutes before cake is ready to be removed from the oven, prepare glaze.

Step 9Put all ingredients in small pan and boil 2-3 minutes.

Step 10Pour hot over cake (freshly removed from the oven)

Step 11Allow to cool for 30 minutes and turn over onto serving plate. Allowing cake to sit longer then 30 minutes will cause it to stick to the pan.
