    dark brown sugar
  • 1
  • 3 Tbsp
    dark molasses
  • 1 c
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    allspice, ground
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking soda
  • 1 pinch
    kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange zest
  • 1/2 c
    dark chocolate morsels
  • 1/8 c
    cranberries, dried
  • 1/8 c
    currants, dried
  • 1/4 c
    whole almonds, blanched
  • ·
    apricot jam
  • ·
    boysenberry, raspberry, or blueberry jam
  • ·
    colored sugar crystals, optional
  • ·
    powdered sugar

How to Make Christmas Jam Torte - Chocolate Winterberry Almond


  1. Mix the first 14 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Blend well.
  2. Then fold in berries, chocolate, and almonds.
  3. Pour half the batter into a tin sprayed with Baker's Joy.
  4. Then spread alternately stripes of apricot and boysenberry jam, keeping a half an inch from the edge of the pie.
  5. Pour the rest of the batter atop.
  6. Bake at 325F until cooked throughout, about 20 minutes.
  7. Wait about 10-15 minutes, then remove from tin onto cake stand.
  8. Optionally sprinkle with powdered sugar.
