Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1.5 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa, dutch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1 tablespoon white or cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 6 ounces chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped

Step 1Beat cream cheese until fluffy.

Step 2Gradually beat in sugar.

Step 3Add egg and blend until smooth.

Step 4Stir in flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt.

Step 5Beat together water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.

Step 6Gradually add flour to flour mixture, blending well.

Step 7Turn into a greased 9\" square baking pan.

Step 8Drop cream cheese mixture by spoonfuls over batter.

Step 9Sprinkle with chocolate pieces and walnuts.

Step 10Bake at 350 degrees for 30-50 minutes until cake tester comes out clean and top springs back when touched.

Step 11Cool on wire rack.

Step 12To serve, cut into squares from pan.
