cream cheese softened
1/3 c
sugar

egg
1.5 c
flour
1 c
sugar
1/4 c
cocoa, dutch
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1 c
cold water
1/3 c
oil
1 Tbsp
white or cider vinegar
1 tsp
vanilla
6 oz
chocolate chips
1/2 c
walnuts, finely chopped

How to Make Chocolatey Chocolate Chip Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Beat cream cheese until fluffy.
  • 2Gradually beat in sugar.
  • 3Add egg and blend until smooth.
  • 4Stir in flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
  • 5Beat together water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.
  • 6Gradually add flour to flour mixture, blending well.
  • 7Turn into a greased 9" square baking pan.
  • 8Drop cream cheese mixture by spoonfuls over batter.
  • 9Sprinkle with chocolate pieces and walnuts.
  • 10Bake at 350 degrees for 30-50 minutes until cake tester comes out clean and top springs back when touched.
  • 11Cool on wire rack.
  • 12To serve, cut into squares from pan.
