Ingredients

1 box white or yellow cake mix
1 jar maraschino cherries
1 lrg box chocolate instant pudding
16 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed

How To Make chocolate smothered cherry cake

Step 1

Prepare and bake cake mix according to package directions

Step 2

When cake is cooled, poke holes in it with the handle of a wooden spoon. (evenly spaced)
Step 3

In those holes put 1/2 a maraschino cherry.
Step 4

Make Instant pudding according to package directions. Pour over cake making sure to coat the whole cake.
Step 5

Spread thawed whipped topping on cake. Drizzle with cherry juice (optional) I think it's pretty. Cover and efrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
