I made this sheet cake for my husband for Fathers day. Very simple, easy, and delicious. Hope u enjoy.

Ingredients

    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/4 c
    cocoa powder
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • ICING:

  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 3 Tbsp
    cocoa powder
  • 6 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 16 oz
    box of powdered sugar
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans or walnuts

How to Make Chocolate Sheet Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine, sugar, salt, and flour in a large mixing bowl. In a saucepan, bring to a boil butter, oil, water, and cocoa. Add to flour mixture. Beat eggs, baking soda, buttermilk, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients. Pour into greased and floured 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean in the center.
  2. ICING:

    Melt together butter and cocoa. Add milk and vanilla. Stir in powdered sugar and nuts. Spread on warm cake and ENJOY!
