How to Make Chocolate Sheet Cake
- 1Sift flour, sugar and salt into large bowl. Mix butter, baking cocoa, shortening and water in pan. Bring to a boil. Pour over sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Add buttermilk, baking soda, eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
- 2Pour into 10 x 15 inch baking pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or til cake springs back when touched lightly on top. Spread chocolate icing over top of cooled cake. Makes 20 servings
- 3Chocolate Icing:
1 pkg. powdered sugar, 1 lb.
1/2 cup butter, 1 stick
1/4 cup baking cocoa
6 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup pecan halves, finely chopped
Put powdered sugar in bowl. Mix butter, baking cocoa and milk in pan. Bring to boil. Pour over the sugar and mix well. Stir in vanilla and pecans.
