Ingredients
- 1.75 cups all purpose sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 tablespoons powdered buttermilk
- 9 teaspoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves, ground
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 - medium eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- dash cinnamon, optional
How To Make chocolate romance cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Grease and flour two or three 8 inch layer pans or one 9x12x2 cake pan.

Step 3Mix all dry ingredients together.

Step 4Blend in mayonnaise, eggs, vanilla and 1/2 of sour cream.

Step 5Beat 2 minutes at medium speed with mixer or 300 strokes by hand.

Step 6Add remaining sour cream and beat 2 minutes longer.

Step 7Pour into pans.

Step 8Bake 25 to 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out \"clean\".

Step 9Cool on rack a few minutes before removing from pan.

Step 10When cool, frost cake.

Step 11FROSTING: Cream butter and cream cheese together until fluffy, gradually add dry ingredients one at a time until all are well blended.

Step 12Add vanilla and blend well.
