- 1/4 pound butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 - eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ICING INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 - squares chocolate
- 1 box confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- - milk as needed
How To Make chocolate pound cake

Step 1Cream butter and shortening.

Step 2Add sugar and eggs.

Step 3Sift dry ingredients together, and add vanilla.

Step 4Bake in tube pan at 325 degrees for about 1 hour and 20 minutew.

Step 6Melt butter and shortening together.

Step 7Stir in sugar, vanilla, and enough milk to spread.
