Ingredients
- 1 box butter cake-mix (minus 2/3 cup. set aside)
- 1 stick margarine or butter,softened
- 1 - egg
- LIGHTLY GREASE PAN,SIDES ONLY OF 13X9 INCH PAN. MIX ABOVE INGREDIENTS(DO NOT FOLLOW CAKE MIX INSTRUCTIONS). PLACE IN PAN AND BAKE FOR 20 MINUTES AT 350 DEGREES. LET COOL. THEN MIX TOGETHER:
- 3 - eggs
- 1 1/2 cups karo syrup
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2/3 cup cake mix (from above)
- 1 package (6 ounces)chocolate chips

Step 1Pour over baked layer and bake for 45 minutes at 325 degrees. If center has not set by then,turn off oven and let set for 10 - 15 mintues. Remove,let cool and serve.
