This recipe was given to me by my ex-husband's aunt in 1975. Although the marriage didn't last long, the recipe is a long time favorite of family and friends. This posting is dedicated with love to my work colleague and friend Amanda.

Ingredients

3 cups unsifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup mayonnaise-regular
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

How To Make chocolate mayonnaise cake

Step 1

Lightly grease small tube pan.

Step 2

Sift dry ingredients together.
Step 3

Stir in mayonnaise.
Step 4

Gradually stir in vanilla and water.
Step 5

Mix till smooth and blended.
Step 6

Pour into pan and bake 30=60 minutes. CAKE IS VERY DENSE. Enjoy.
