This recipe was shared with me by my Mother-In-Law. The cake is rich and moist! Another cake/cup cake that doesn't last long in my house! When making this recipe, be sure to use Mayonnaise and not salad dressing like Miracle Whip. The salad dressing types change the taste of the cake!

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 cup white sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup warm water
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make chocolate mayonnaise cake

Step 1

Sift and mix dry ingredients. Add water, mayonnaise and vanilla. Beat 1 to 2 minutes. Pour into 9X9 pan.

Step 2

Bake at 350F for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes in pan and turn out onto wire rack.
Step 3

If making muffins/cup cakes, reduce baking time to 15 to 20 minutes. Keep checking with toothpick until cooked! ENJOY!
