Ingredients

  • 10
    matzahs
  • 1/2 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    granulated instant coffee
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    brandy or liqueur
  • 7 oz
    margarine or butter
  • 5 1/2 oz
    bitter sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 c
    peanut butter

How to Make Chocolate Matza Squares

Step-by-Step

  1. Break matzahs into small pieces and put in a large bowl.
  2. In a small pot put cocoa powder, coffee, sugar, water and liqueur and bring to a boil. add butter and stir untill dissolved.
  3. Pour cocoa mixure over matzahs pieces and mix well to cover all pieces.
  4. Pour mixture into 8x13 inches pan.
    Refrigerate while making the top cover.
  5. Melt chocolate in microwave, add peanut butter and mix into a smooth mixture. Pour over matzah mixture and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or for 1/2 hour in the freezer.
  6. cut into squares with a sharp knife.
