chocolate malt cupcakes (aka whopper cupcakes)
This recipe came from a Carnation flyer several years ago. These cupcakes are delicious, especially if you like chocolate malt as much as my family does! I added the Whopper candy on top of the finished cupcake. It seemed like a natural but, of course, its optional. Picture is clip art.

How To Make chocolate malt cupcakes (aka whopper cupcakes)
-
Step 1Preheat oven according to cake mix package directions for cupcakes. Prepare chocolate cake mix with eggs, water, and oil as package directs. Mix well. Add malt powder, folding in by hand. Spoon batter into cupcake wrappers placed in a cupcake pan and bake according to cake mix package directions. Watch cupcakes and test with a toothpick when they are nearly done. Do not over-bake.
-
Step 2While cupcakes are cooling prepare frosting. Combine all of the ingredients and beat well with a mixer. Frosting should be fluffy and easy to spread. Spread or pipe frosting onto COOLED cupcakes, garnish with a whole malted milk ball.
