How To Make chocolate fudge squares with mocha glaze

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step 2
Butter an 8 inch square baking pan.
  • Step 3
To make the squares in large bowl, cream butter with sugar and egg.
  • Step 4
In small bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. Add to butter mixture.
  • Step 5
Then add the melted chocolate, being careful not to overbeat. Add the milk, vanilla and walnuts, stirring just to blend. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Step 6
Bake until edges begin to pull away from sides of pan and top springs back when pressed lightly, about 30 minutes. Allow cake to cool completely.
  • Step 7
Meanwhile, to make the glaze, in medium bowl, mix the sugar, butter, chocolate and vanilla.
  • Step 8
Stir in coffee and whisk until smooth. Refrigerate glaze until cool, then pour over the top of the cake and cut cake into squares.
  • Step 9
Beating by hand ensures a rich creamy texture for these confections. Virtually any varietal or blend of coffee complements their intense chocolate flavor. Starbucks
