chocolate fudge oreo cake
This is a recipe that I have worked with for a couple of months to get it as I wanted it. I must say - - it was fun and yummy "getting" it right!
Blue Ribbon Recipe
This is such a decadent chocolate cake. Sour cream makes it very moist. The cream cheese Oreo filling is so delicious, make sure not to taste too much of it so there's some for the cake (it's that good). Drizzling fudge over the cake takes this over the top. If you're worried about the whipped cream topping melting from the heat of the warmed fudge before you are ready to serve this, a squeezable chocolate sauce is a great substitute. This chocolate Oreo cake looks very impressive when served and sliced but is super easy to make.

How To Make chocolate fudge oreo cake
-
Step 1Mix cake mix, sour cream, milk, oil, and eggs together on low for 1 minute. After 1 minute, scrape down sides and mix batter an additional 2 minutes.
-
Step 2Divide batter between the two 9 inch pans. Bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
-
Step 3Remove cakes and place them on a cooling rack to completely cool.
-
Step 4Beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
-
Step 5Beat sugar and cream cheese together until smooth.
-
Step 6Fold whipping cream and Oreo's into cream cheese mixture.
-
Step 7Reserve 1 cup of the whipping cream mixture to use on top of the cake.
-
Step 8To assemble the cake, place one cake on a tray. Top with remaining whipped cream. Then add the second cake. Frost cake with the cup of reserved whipped cream. You can either frost the entire cake or just frost the top of the cake with the whipped cream. Warm-up some hot fudge sauce and drizzle around the edges of the cake. Crush more Oreo's and place them on top of the cake. Take the Oreo halves and place them around the edge as decorations.
