This cake is so easy, and delicious..it's rich and very moist. The frosting is of a fudgey consistency. This cake is one of my daughters favorites.. If getting company at the last minute..this cake would be a great one to make. Enjoy! My photo's

Ingredients

  • 1 box devil's food cake mix (your favorite) - i used duncan heinz
  • 1 - 22 oz cans cherry pie filling
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond flavoring ( optional ) - i used vanilla
  • FROSTING
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 6 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips

How To Make chocolate fudge cherry cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease and flour a 13x9x2-inch pan.
  • Step 2
    Mix cake mix, cherry pie filling, eggs, and flavoring by hand. Batter will be thick.
  • Step 3
    Spread batter into the prepared cake pan.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350°for about 30 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step 5
    For the frosting: Place sugar, butter, and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Boil for one minute. Remove from the heat and stir in chocolate chips until smooth.
  • Step 6
    Pour over warm cake.
  • Step 7
    Enjoy!
