Chocolate Fudge Cake

Chara Teh

This is a quick and easy family favourite I learnt from my mum. I made it for a school bake sale and someone asked if I would take orders, and this cake launched me into baking for special orders. My sisters have learnt it too and it makes for a great cake for all occasions.

I dress it up with chocolate curls and a light dusting of icing sugar - that's the signature classic look, or my family eats it 15 minutes out of the oven for a teatime treat, sometimes with a generous portion of vanilla ice cream.

This cake is great chilled or warm.
