This is not a super-sweet dessert. The bittersweet chocolate makes it rich and decadent.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter, unsalted
  • 1 tablespoon red wine, dry
  • - pound cake
  • - bananas
  • - strawberries, fresh

How To Make chocolate fondue

  • Step 1
    If not in chip form, chop bittersweet chocolate into small pieces.
  • Step 2
    Combine sugar, heavy cream, chocolate and butter in a microwave safe dish. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes (pull out when melted).
  • Step 3
    Add red wine (I used Cabernet Sauvignon) to the chocolate mixture and stir to blend.
  • Step 4
    Serve with bite-size pieces of pound cake, bananas and strawberries for dipping.
