chocolate covered cherry brownies

My daughters favorite brownies. Ever since she was a little girl, she would get into my jars of Maraschino cherries when I wasn't looking... I never had any left when needing them for a recipe...so, I always dedicated these brownies to her. This is one of the desserts I am making for her graduation party. I hope you try them... My photos

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup baking cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries, chopped and well drained
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

How To Make chocolate covered cherry brownies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Spray a 9 x 13 baking pan with cooking spray, or grease. Set aside
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs.
  • Step 3
    Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  • Step 4
    Gradually add to creamed mixture. Spread into greased baking dish. Bake for 28 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle with marshmallows. Bake 1-2 minutes longer or until marshmallows are soft but not browned.
  • Step 6
    Sprinkle with cherries. Cool on a wire rack.
  • Step 7
    In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and cream; stir until smooth.
  • Step 8
    Drizzle over brownies. Let stand until chocolate is set.
