chocolate cookie sheet cake

A man that I used to work with brought this for a potluck...lol...I believe it was his wife that did the cooking...this cake was delicious. It is made in a cookie sheet pan, is simple but packed with flavor. The one we had did not have nuts but the peanut butter instead. Great for a crowd.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick oleo
- 1 cup water, cold
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ICING:
- 1 stick oleo
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup nuts, optional or
- 1/3 cup peanut butter, crunchy
- 6 tablespoons milk
- pinch salt
How To Make chocolate cookie sheet cake

Step 1Sift together flour, sugar, salt. In a saucepan put oleo, water, shortening & cocoa. Bring to a boil & pour over flour mixture. Mix well. Add eggs. Add baking soda, buttermilk & vanilla. Stir Well. Bake in greased & floured cookie sheet (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1) in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Start making icing during last 5 minutes.

Step 2ICING: Using same saucepan melt oleo, cocoa, peanut butter but do NOT boil. Take off heat & add powdered sugar, vanilla, nuts if desired & milk. Ice cake hot. Makes 35 squares.
