Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 - eggs
  • TOPPING INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

How To Make chocolate chip streusel coffee cake

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Grease and lightly flour 13x9 pan.
  • Step 3
    In small bowl, combine all topping/streusel ingredients; mix well.
  • Step 4
    Set aside.
  • Step 5
    In large bowl, combine all coffee cake ingredients at low speed until moistened.
  • Step 6
    Beat 2 minutes at highest speed.
  • Step 7
    Spread 2/3 of batter in prepared pan; sprinkle with half of topping/streusel mix.
  • Step 8
    Repeat with remaining batter and top with streusel mix.
  • Step 9
    Bake for 35-50 minutes, or until cake tests done in center.
