1 cup dates, chopped
1 1/2 cups water, boiling
1 teaspoon soda
STEP TWO
2 1/2 cups butter
1 cup sugar
2 - eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
STEP THREE
3 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup pecans
1 cup chocolate chips

How To Make chocolate chip date coffee cake

Step 1

Mix dates, boiling water and soda together and let cool.

Step 2

Cream butter and sugar together.
Step 3

Add eggs and vanilla.
Step 4

Add flour and soda.
Step 5

Add the cooled date mixture from step one.
Step 6

Pour into greased and floured 9\" x13\" pan.
Step 7

Sprinkle ingredients in step 3 over top and bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
