chocolate chip banana nut bundt cake
I am a sucker for anything with bananas, nuts and chocolate: cakes, breads, ice creams..., making this recipe one of my favorites. It's important to use VERY ripe bananas to get the very best flavor!

Ingredients
- CAKE BATTER
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups (or approximately 3) very ripe bananas, smashed
- 2 - large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans (or nuts of your preference)
- 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- - powdered sugar for dusting

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2In large bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Add bananas, eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Mix well.

Step 3In small bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to banana mixture and combine well. Fold in nuts and mini chocolate chips.

Step 4Spray bundt pan with non-stick spray. Pour cake batter into pan and bake on middle rack for 45-50 minutes, until wooden pick inserted in middle comes out clean.

Step 5Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Run sharp knife along edges of cake; invert onto pan and cool completely.

Step 6Once cooled, glaze or dust with powdered sugar.
