this is a good cake to make when you're told company's coming in an hour. I typed it using the chocolate and cherries that I had first tasted, but have tried several other combinations, apples in spice cake with cream cheese frosting in the fall is wonderful, along with peaches & a french vanilla cake mix and buttrcram icing

How to Make Chocolate cherry cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees or the setting that your cake box recommends.
  2. Mix together cake mix, eggs and pie filling until blended and pour into a greased 11x13 pan (I've personally only used this pan, other sizes would work also)
  3. Bake for 30-35 minutes or the time indicated on the cake box.
  4. Let cake cool completely before frosting
