Ingredients
- 14 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 10 - egg yolks
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon grand marnier
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 10 - egg whites
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- - confectioners' sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream, whipped
How To Make chocolate cake with grand marnier

Step 1Melt chocolate and butter in double boiler.

Step 2Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3Beat yolks and 1 cup sugar until smooth; stir in vanilla, grand marnier and lemon juice.

Step 4Blend in chocolate mixture.

Step 5Beat egg whites in large mixer bowl until soft peaks form.

Step 6Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar; beating until stiff peaks form.

Step 7Stir 1 cup of whites into chocolate mixture, then fold in remaining whites.

Step 8Pour batter into greased and floured 10 or 12 inch springform pan.

Step 9Bake in preheated 250 oven 2 1/2 hours.

Step 10Cool completely on rack before removing pan.

Step 11Sprinkle cake with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream.
