How to Make Chocolate Cake
- Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans.
- In medium bowl measure and sift flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
- Cream shortening with sugar. Add vanilla, eggs and milk on medium speed.
Reduce speed to low and add flour mixture. Scrape bowl and raise speed to high for 5 minutes.
- Pour batter into pans and bake 30-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
Allow to cool completely before filling and frosting.
