Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 - 1 oz squares, unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purspose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups sour milk

How To Make chocolate cake

  • Step 1
    Cream together shortening and sugar until light. Blend in vanilla and chocolate. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each
  • Step 2
    Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour milk; beat after each.
  • Step 3
    Bake in a greased and floured 13x9x2 inch baking dish at 350 F for 35 to 40 minutes
