cherry squares
Made these last night, are not too sweet, but very good. I had a can of cherry pie filling I wanted rid of, so went recipe searching....needless to say they won't last long in this house..just enough sweetness to be satisfying..

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter ( softened)
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 - eggs
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (i used vanilla)
- 1 large 21 oz can of cherry pie filling
How To Make cherry squares

Step 1Cream butter and sugar together until very light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then beat in the extracts. Gradually mix in the flour until well incorporated.

Step 2Spread 3/4 of the batter in the bottom of a 9"x13" pan lined with parchment paper. Scoop cherry pie filling over batter in pan.

Step 3Drop remaining batter by spoonfuls over the cherries. Bake at 375 for 45 min. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
