  • 2 1/2 c
  • 1 1/3 c
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
  • 3/4 c
  • 1 c
  • 1 jar(s)
    maraschino cherries drained, chopped, save juice
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts
  • 4
    egg whites
  • 1 tsp

How to Make Cherry Nut Cake


  1. in large bowl sift dry ingredients together
  2. stir in milk
  3. add eggs beating well with mixer after each
  4. add vanilla and beat 2 minutes on high,
  5. stir in cherries and nuts
  6. pour into prepared cake pan. two layer or one 13X9
  7. bake 350 degrees 25 to 30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. frost with buttercream frosting. I use the saved cherry juice and almond flavoring to frosting ingredients.
