baking powder
3/4 tsp

maraschino cherries drained, chopped, save juice
1/2 c
chopped nuts
egg whites
1 tsp

How to Make Cherry Nut Cake


  • 1in large bowl sift dry ingredients together
  • 2stir in milk
  • 3add eggs beating well with mixer after each
  • 4add vanilla and beat 2 minutes on high,
  • 5stir in cherries and nuts
  • 6pour into prepared cake pan. two layer or one 13X9
  • 7bake 350 degrees 25 to 30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • 8frost with buttercream frosting. I use the saved cherry juice and almond flavoring to frosting ingredients.
