  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ICING:
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix (i use jello brand)
  • 2 - envelopes of dessert topping mix (kraft dream whip will do)
  • 1 1/4 cups cold milk (for topping mix)
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (center of cake)

How To Make cherry dream cake

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour two nine inch round pans.
  • Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer. Stir in the boiling water last. Batter will be thin. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
  • Step 3
Bake 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cake tests done with a toothpick. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, and then remove from pans to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Step 4
*NOTE: You can use any chocolate cake mix you want if you don’t have time to make it from scratch. (i use BC german chocolate)
  • Step 5
For icing: In a mixing bowl add pudding mix, topping mix, and milk. (I always double the icing to make sure I have enough)
  • Step 6
Directions for Icing cake: Smooth icing down sides and about 2 inches over, leaving the whole center free to spoon in your delicious cherry pie filing. Repeat process for second layer.
