How to Make Cherry Dream Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour two nine inch round pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer. Stir in the boiling water last. Batter will be thin. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
  3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cake tests done with a toothpick. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, and then remove from pans to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. *NOTE: You can use any chocolate cake mix you want if you don’t have time to make it from scratch. (i use BC german chocolate)
  5. For icing:
In a mixing bowl add pudding mix, topping mix, and milk. (I always double the icing to make sure I have enough)
  6. Directions for Icing cake:
Smooth icing down sides and about 2 inches over, leaving the whole center free to spoon in your delicious cherry pie filing. Repeat process for second layer.
