cherry chocolate cake
This one smells sooooo good while your mixing it up - and even better when it's baking! I made it using 2-8" round pans and spread a thin layer of the frosting between the layers.

Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1 - chocolate or german chocolate cake mix
- 1/3 cup oil
- 3 - eggs
- 1 can cherry pie filling (be sure to check for stems!)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts, for garnish
- SWEET BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup milk
How To Make cherry chocolate cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together cake mix, oil and eggs. Add cherry pie filling and mix gently by hand. Bake in 13x9 pan or two 8" round pans for 34 to 38 minutes, until tootpick comes out clean.

Step 2To make icing, combine cream cheese, butter, and vanilla, whipping until fluffy. Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing on low. Slowly add milk until desired consistency is reached, increasing speed of mixer to maintain light and fluffy consistency.

Step 3Once cake(s) have cooled, frost in pan or place on serving dish and frost. If desired, top with chopped nuts.
