1For the cake: Grease and flour a 9x13" pan.
Beat the eggs and almond extract. Add the cake mix, water and oil (you may not need all of the water and oil, so I add a little at a time, because the cherry pie filling will add additional moisture). By hand, stir in cherry pie filling.
2Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30 minutes (or until done) at 350 degrees F.
If making cupcakes, put paper baking cups into cupcake pan, fill each cup with batter and bake for approximately 20 minutes.
Let cool and then spread with frosting.
3To make Frosting:
Heat/boil the sugar, butter and milk for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add the chocolate pieces. With electric mixer, beat until of spreading consistency.
Frost the cake (or cupcakes).
