  • 1 lb
    frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 21 oz
    cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 c
  • 8 oz
    fat-free cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 c
  • 1/4 c
    skim milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1/2 c
    unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, cold

How to Make Cherry Cheese Coffee Cake


  1. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 13 x 9" rectangle.
  2. Place in prepared 13 x 9" pan.
  3. Cover and let rise double in size, 1 hour.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine cherry pie filling and raisins.
  5. Spread evenly over dough.
  6. In a another mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, milk, 2 tablespoons flour and almond extract.
  7. Pour mixture over cherry mixture.
  8. In a small mixing bowl, combine remaining flour and brown sugar.
  9. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  10. Sprinkle mixture over cream cheese layer.
  11. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
