This is a very moist cake and would most likely be very good with other flavors of pie filling. I baked mine in a glass pan; however, it took about 45 minutes to bake.

  • 1 pkg
    yellow cake mix
  • 1 can(s)
    (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 3
  • 1/2 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans

How to Make Cherry Cake


  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cake mix, pie filling, and eggs until blended. Pour into greased 13" x 9" x 2" baking pan. Combine the brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and butter; sprinkle over batter. Top with nuts.
  2. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center coes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
