This is a family favorite. I've been making it since I was a teen. I found it in our church's cookbook and have been making it ever since, especially for my Daddy's birthday because it was his favorite.

Ingredients

1 - angel food cake mix
1 - tub of cool whip
1 package cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling

How To Make cherries on top angel food cake

Step 1

Make angel food cake as directed, let cool. Icing- In a large bowl cream together cream cheese, sugar, powdered sugar and vanilla. Fold in cool whip untill well blended.

Step 2

Cut angel food cake into 2 layers and ice cake. Place cherries on the top and around the bottom if you'd like and drizzle the "juice" on top and down the sides.
