Cheesecake in a Jar

Do you like cheesecake? I love cheesecake.
Do you like a really cool presentation? I love a really cool presentation.

Well, how about making your cheesecake in a nice jar. The presentation is amazing, and they make wonderful gifts; expecially around the holidays.

So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

3/4 c
cookie crumbs, graham crumbs, your choice
2 Tbsp
sweet butter, unsalted, melted
8 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 c
sugar, granulated varitey
1 Tbsp
clover fresh honey
1/3 c
sour cream
1 large
farm fresh egg
blueberries or other topping of your choice


2Gather your ingredients.
3Place a rack in the bottom position, and preheat the oven to 325f (165c).
4Add the butter to the cookie crumbs.
5Mix until combined.
6Divide the crumb mixture between three or four small jars, and press into the bottoms.
7Chef's Note: If you're looking for an excellent homemade chocolate cookie crumb base... Here ya go:
Ground Chocolate Cookie Wafer Base
8Add the cream cheese, sugar, and honey to a bowl.
9Beat until thoroughly combined.
10Add the egg and sour cream.
11Continue to beat until the mixture is combined.
12Divide the cheesecake batter between the jars.
13Add the jars to a small, high-walled pan.
14Place in the oven, and fill the pan halfway up with boiling water.
15Chef's Note: By cooking the jars in a water bath, you're giving them a nice steady heat to cook in.
16Bake until the cream cheese sets, about 20 to 25 minutes.
17Chef’s Note: There will still be a bit of a jiggle in the centers.
18Cover the jars, and cool in the refrigerator for 1 or 2 hours.
20Add your favorite topping, and serve. Enjoy.
21Chef’s Note: If not serving right away, place the tops on the jars, and keep refrigerated.
22Chef’s Tip: These make brilliant gifts around the holidays.
