This recipe came from Taste of Home's Holiday Recipe Card collection. I haven't made ginger bread in quite some time. This sounds really tempting, with the sweet cream cheese filling!

- ********FILLING********
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose or unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- ********BATTER********
- 3 cups all-purpose or unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
- ********GLAZE********
- 1 cup confectioners's sugar
- 1-2 tablespoon milk
How To Make cheese-filled ginger bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 10 inch fluted tube pan.

Step 2FILLING: In a mixing bowl, beat first 4 ingredients, until smooth; set aside.

Step 3BATTER: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, & ginger. In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, oil, and molasses, until smooth. Stir into dry ingredients, just until moistened. Fold in walnuts. Spoon a third of the batter, into the prepared pan. Top with the reserved cream cheese mixture. Carefully, spoon remaining batter over filling.

Step 4Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes, before removing from the pan, to a wire rack.

Step 5GLAZE: Combine confectioners' sugar and enough milk, to achieve desired consistency. Drizzle over bread. Store in the refrigerator. Makes 16-20 servings.
