This is a very old recipe, and still the best one yet.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • - combine above in bowl and add
  • 4 - eggs, beaten and added one at a time. add
  • 3 cups shredded carrots and
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make carrot cake

  • Step 1
    Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes Use a 13 X 9-inch cake pan.
  • Step 2
    FROSTING: Combine 1 8-oz. pkg cream cheese with 1/4 lb. of butter, or margarine. Add;1 box of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat well. Frost cake and sprinkle with 1 cup chopped pecans.
