Another beach buddy, Carolyn Foushee, shared this recipe with me so I wanted to pass it on. This is an absolutely wonderful cake. I love it when dear friends share their recipes with me and vice versa. Carolyn's husband, Reade, shared a wonderful snack mix recipe with me a few years ago and I have that posted as well. It's called "Reade's Savory Snack Mix" (shown in step #6). You really need to check it out. It's absolutely wonderful!!!

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 ounces box instant vanilla pudding
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 4 medium eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1-bar - baker's semi-sweet german chocolate (grate or chop)
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

How To Make carolyn's chocolate chip bundt cake

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour bundt pan. I actually like using Wilton's Cake Release.
  • Step 2
Chop or grate (I chop mine) the Baker's German chocolate bar and set aside. It comes in the green box and is 4 ounces. You can use the sweet or semi-sweet.
  • Step 3
Sift together the cake mix and vanilla instant pudding. Add in sour cream, eggs, water and oil. Mix well.
  • Step 4
Fold in the grated (or chopped) Baker's German chocolate and chocolate chips.
  • Step 5
Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and bake at 350 for approximately 55 minutes or until toothpick (or cake tester) comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10-15 minutes before turning out.
  • Thank you, Carolyn, for this wonderful recipe. Love ya, girl!
    Step 6
To Serve: Place each slice in microwave for a few seconds to melt the chocolate chips. This is wonderful with a dollop of whipped cream on top or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. *This is a picture of Carolyn.
