Ingredients

1/2 lb2 sticks butter plus more for pan

1/2 cbutter shortening

3 csugar
-
5eggs
-
3 call purpose flour plus more for pan

1/2 tspfine salt
-
1/2 tspbaking powder
-
1 cmilk
-
1 tspvanilla extract
-
375 mljar of maraschino cherries
How to Make Carol's Christmas Cherry Pound Cake
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cream butter and shortening together
Add sugar a little at a time
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each one
Add dry ingrediants alternately with milk
Add the vanilla
Cut the cherries in half and coat with flour then stir into the batter
Cut a circle of parchment for the bottom of the pan.Grease and dust with flour the pan.
Pour into a springform pan
Bake for 1 to 1/2 hours until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
