packed brown sugar

quick cooking oats
1/2 tsp
baking soda & a pinch of salt
1 1/2 stick
butter, melted


1 pkg
(6oz) semi sweet chocolate chips
3/4 c
pecans, chopped
1 jar(s)
(12oz) caramel ice cream topping
3 Tbsp

How to Make Carmelitas


  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, oats.brown sugar, pinch of salt, baking soda and butter in bowl and blend well enough to form crumbs. Pat down two-thirds crumb mixture into sprayed 9x13 baking pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  • 2Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans. Blend caramel topping with the 3 Tbs. of flour, blending well, and spread over chips and pecans. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Refrigerate for a couple of hours before cutting into squares
