This is the easiest recipe and so good. My family loves these, especially my son in law. He's my biggest fan. I hope you will try this recipe and let me know how you liked it.

Ingredients

  • CRUST
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda & a pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
  • FILLING
  • 1 package (6oz) semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 jar (12oz) caramel ice cream topping
  • 3 tablespoons flour

How To Make carmelitas

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, oats.brown sugar, pinch of salt, baking soda and butter in bowl and blend well enough to form crumbs. Pat down two-thirds crumb mixture into sprayed 9x13 baking pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans. Blend caramel topping with the 3 Tbs. of flour, blending well, and spread over chips and pecans. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Refrigerate for a couple of hours before cutting into squares
