CARMEL APPLE CAKE
1- 1/2 ccanola oil or veg oil
1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed
3 call purpose flour sifted
2 tspvanilla extract
2 tspcinnamon, ground
3-1/2 cgranny smith apples diced
1 cchopped walnuts
How to Make CARMEL APPLE CAKE
- In a mixing bowl, combine oil and sugar mix well, add eggs, one at a time, mix well. Combine dry ingredients and add to batter, stir well. Fold in apples, walnuts and vanilla.
- Grease and flour 10" tube pan. Pour batter in and bake at 325* for 1-1/2 hour or until tests done. cool in pan 10 min and remove. cool completely and cover top with the following carmel icing.
- CARMEL ICING
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup light cream
1/4 cup butter or marg
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup walnuts for the top
- In the microwave heat brown sugar, cream, marg and salt until sugar dissolved, cool add powdered sugar and make it to the consistency you would like.
pour over the cake and top with walnuts.
I make double of the icing as we like to have enough to put on the slice of cake if we want.
