14 ozlight caramels, remove wrappers

1/3 cevaporated milk

1 boxgerman chocolate cake mix

6 ozsemi-sweet chocolate chips

How to Make Caramel Layer Chocolate Squares
- Preheat oven to 350. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk over a low heat. Set aside.
- Combine remaining ingredients except chocolate chips until it holds together. Pat 1/2 of dough into 9 x 13 ungreased pan. Bake for 6 minutes. Remove and pour caramel sauce over the base. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, crumble remaining dough over the caramel and chocolate chips. Return to oven and bake for 15-18 minutes. Refrigerate after cooling slightly so that caramel sets. Cut into slices and serve.
