(1 RATING)
I got this recipe out of my great-grandmother's recipe box. It come off the back of a box of Duncan Hines Caramel Cake mix, I guess back before they made canned frosting, LOL.

Ingredients
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar, sift if needed
How To Make caramel butter nut icing
-
Step 1In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter and milk. Boil and stir for 2 minutes. Cool 30 minutes. Gradually add confectioners sugar; mix until smooth. Add more sugar to thicken or milk to thin frosting. This will make enough to frost 2 (8 or 9 inch) cake layers, a 13 x 9 inch cake or cupcakes. Vanilla flavoring can be added, if desired.
