Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup melted butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 - eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
How To Make buttery buttermilk cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Butter and flour a 13X9 or two 8 inch cake pans.

Step 2Sift together dry ingredients

Step 3Blend in butter and buttermilk. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in Vanilla. (yes that is 1 tablespoon) Stir in boiling water.

Step 4Pour into prepared pan(s), let rest for 5 minutes. Bake for 45 minutes or until knife in center comes out clean. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar while hot from oven. Or pour caramel ice cream topping over cake while hot, (you won't need the entire jar).
