boiling water
1 c
quick-cooking oatmeal
1 c
butterscotch chips
3/4 c
sugar
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c
butter
2
eggs
1 1/2 c
flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
nutmeg
3/4 c
raisins (optional)
1/2 c
nuts, chopped

How to Make Butterscotch Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine boiling water and oats; let stand.
  • 2Melt butterscotch morsels; set aside.
  • 3Combine sugar, brown sugar, and butter, beat well.
  • 4Beat in eggs.
  • 5Blend in oat mixture, melted butterscotch.
  • 6Sift dry ingredients and gradually blend into wet ingredients.
  • 7Stir in raisins and nuts.
  • 8Pour into greased and floured 13 X 9 inch pan.
  • 9Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
  • 10Frost with your favorite chocolate icing.
