buttermilk pound cake

This is my favorite pound cake recipe. My Mother and husband always look forward to me baking this cake. I would have posted a photo, however I failed to wait long enough to take it out of the pan and the top stuck to the pan. Not a pretty sight, but still delicious to eat!

Makes 1 bundt cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (do not substitute anything else)
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 - eggs
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- - confectioners' sugar
How To Make buttermilk pound cake

Step 1Make certain that butter and eggs are at room temperature.

Step 2In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

Step 3Combine flour, salt and baking soda; add alternately with buttermilk and beat well.

Step 4Pour into a well greased and floured tube or bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan for 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. Sprinkle top with confectioners' sugar.
