I was making Buttermilk Chess Pie with my son and having him read the directions. After I added 2 cups of flour, I asked him if he was sure it wasn't 2 tablespoons? Whoops, and the making of Buttermilk Chess Cake was born.

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter or butter flavored shortning
- 3 - eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 dash salt
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
How To Make buttermilk chess cake

Step 1Cream the butter with the sugar until smooth. Add in and beat the eggs. Add in Vanilla and buttermilk. Stir until smooth and consistent.

Step 2Mix in the flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder.

Step 3Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes (I use a bundt pan) insert knife and make sure it comes out dry.
